Introduction - Michelle

Hello everyone! I'm really excited about the discussions we're going to be having but before I participate it's only logical that I introduce myself first. Now, what can I say?

Well, If you were to imagine an awkward, shy girl sitting quietly on one side of the classroom communicating almost singularly through a series of smiles and nods, you’d have a pretty accurate description of the kind of classmate you’d have if I had chosen to take your course. Born in Doha, Qatar, I have lived almost all my life in the country called the UAE.

Don’t misunderstand me, though. I’m purely Filipino, and am perfectly capable of speaking fluent Tagalog. Self-proclaimed art connoisseur and gaming addict, I can be kept entertained for hours on end if supplied with a computer with internet connection; beware of having a difficult time prying me off the desk, though.

Finding beauty in everything and embracing challenges regardless of difficulty, I am Michelle, artist hopeful and Visual Communication student at American University in Dubai.

If I were to put Dubai in my own words, it would be "my childhood home." Below is a very old picture of me and my brother on a mini-train in Safa Park.

(..and Yes, I used to play in parks like a normal child too, haha. )

Well enough about myself, I really look forward to getting to know everyone! :)

Dubai is my childhood home
