Heyy everyone :)
Hi guys, my name is Mahnoor and I'm a Pakistani expatriat who has been living in Dubai for the past 12 years. Dubai has become more of a home for me than Pakistan ; however, I will never be able to call Dubai mine because only Emariti's have the right to gain the passport. Although I love Pakistani, I get a few culture shocks now that I go back. I'm a business finance major and have a passion for business. I visit the states now and then but have never been to Michigan and hope to learn all about it :)

What different cultural shocks have you experienced when going back home, could you go into more detail? :)
ReplyDeleteSorry for the late reply, well first of all, Dubai is alot more open-minded in all aspects such as clothes, going out, interaction with the opposite sex (in pakistan its pretty much forbidden to hang out with the opposite sex, specially if you're a girl).Ontop of that food is a HUGE problem for me because it just tastes so differet there even if it's Mcdonald's it just tastes different!
ReplyDeleteI think the biggest culture shock for me is not having as much freedom as I do here just because I'm a girl! I'm used to being independant and going out when I feel like it ( keeping my curfew in mind ofcourse) but when I go there my parents feel start thinking like people in Pakistan because in Pakistan they worry alot about what other people will say. Although I love my country and i love visiting, it takes alot of getting used to haha
