At the beginning of the movie Walt was very proud of himself, he hated the Hmong and he did not like them to be his neighbor. But after a while when he started knowing them he started liking them as well. And at the end of the movie he gave his life for them.
i think that shows that he became unracist... :)
ReplyDeleteWalt still used the same racial slurs to refer to the Hmong even after it was clear that he liked them. I think he simply thought they were strange and lazy in the beginning, I don't think he actually hated them because of their race.

ReplyDeleteI would like to point out that all of us do have this attitude, maybe some don't realize it, but it is there. We tend to feel that everyone from a different culture or race is weird or that it is difficult for us to get along with them. This is in general, but not until we get to know them then we start liking them and become friends. Almost each and one of us got to know one of him friends through this process, where he or she felt that I don't like this person, but as the days passed and they got to know each other then things became to go smooth and nice.
ReplyDeleteI'm just giving my opinion based on my experience with others, and I hope i made my point clear.
