Allow Me to Introduce Myself

Hello,

My name is Dwight Linen. I am currently a Senior III undergraduate student attending Kettering University in Flint, MI. My major is mechanical engineering with an aerospace and propulsion specialty. I was born and raised in the heart of Detroit, MI (picture to the right) . Some of my hobbies and interest include playing basketball, working-out, building model fighter jets, video games, kick-boxing, playing chess and the piano.

I love food and trying new things at least once. I also would like to travel more in the future.

I welcome any and all questions!

  1. What a wonderful range of interests you have, Dwight. :D

If possible, I'd love to see some pictures of your model fighter jets, they must look awesome. How are you enjoying your course at Kettering U?

..and Just out of curiosity, what video games do you play, on which platforms? I'm not much of a hardcore gamer but in my opinion anything about games is worth knowing haha.

  2. Thanx for the comments...I actually don't have any pics with me at the moment, I left them in Detroit, but I will post them as soon as I get ahold of them.

Kettering is going great, this is my last term her at KU, graduating this June. The course work can be quite difficult and tedious, but I'm still here lol. The campus is also very small since it's a private instituaiton, about 2000 students max, but I make the most of it.

My gaming platform is PS3, and I'm a big RPG fan and games with a great storyline. I'm a definite Final Fantasy Fanatic. Secondary would be Shooters(Call of Duty), Fighting(Street Fighter), and Racing (Need For Speed). games.

  4. oh man yeah square enix really owns the RPG genre. I only got a quick start of FF13 because I'm terrible at managing my time and didn't get much chance to play it properly. :(

My brother's currently playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II; he's absolutely addicted to playing online. He's managed to progress a lot further than me in FF13, too.

On a random note, mahnoor you play tekken!?!? I always found the move combos really complicated for that series ;_; We haven't got street fighter IV but we have soul calibur; even our mom joined in trying to unlock the apprentice haha.

We're not too much into racing games but my brother really took a fancy for Burnout Paradise. It was fun even just to watch him playing, honestly. XD

  5. Hey, sorry I haven't blogged lately, been busy. But thanks Mahnoor for the comment. My mom named me after my father, I'll tell her you thinks it's cool..lol...she'll like that. Tekken is another greater fighter I happen to play as well. Yes the combos can be terrible deifficult to execute. But once you master them. You'll be pretty unstopable.

In my perspective, Detroit is cool place to live minus the high crime rate. However, I live in the inner city were there are alot of buildings and alot of things to do. I spend most of my time hanging out with friends and playing sports like basketball and football. There are alot of little malls to go to as well. There are a number of movie theatre to attend as well as clubs and bars to hangout if your into the night life and enjoy parties. Depending on what part of Detroit your in, the scenery could be quite beautiful and quiet where others can tend to be rundown with people playing loud music at all hours of the night (unfortunately I grew up in this areas lol). The school system is pretty decent, teachers try there best but the way the economy was resources werent' always readily avaliable. You had to get people to pull some strings every now and again to get things moving. Sometimes it seemed as if people would only come to school to put on a fashion show rather than learning which was a little dishearting. But maybe that's because the schools I attend where predominatly of the black ethnicity, not sure. There's video game arcads, go cart racing, nice parks to visit, resturants if like tryig new foods, and classes for anything would like to learn pretty much. So if ever decided to visit, I think it'll be worth your while.

I haven't acutally bought the FF13 game yet :-(, I've kinda been budgeting to pay for my last term of classes. But I will soon, love FF. Yea, the Square team definetly holds the title when it comes to rpg's.

You both sound like really cool people. If you play online (PS3 that is), maybe we can send each other an invite and doing some gaming? My gaming alias is AceNemesis.
