I can tell from some of the comments and posts that some of you in Dubai seem to be fairly interested in cars. The same is true here. Kettering is a very automotive oriented school in a very automotive oriented part of the country. Consequently, most of us work for auto companies or suppliers.
Anyways, I was just curious as to your opinions on the American auto companies and the cars they make. Do any of you think GM and Ford (and Chrysler too, though you my not be familiar with them because they don't sell cars over there) make good quality, interesting cars?
Thanks

Hey Matt, I'm familiar with all the kind of cars you talk about, my brother has a Chrysler and my father owned a Ford Explore 4W car, these cars are amazing especially Ford, it's well known here and there are many cars out there on the street especially the Ford Mustang :D
ReplyDeletei'm not sure if Cadillac is an American Company but i'm so in love with this car,2010, CTS V8 the fastest sidan 4 doors car :D, i wish to have one :)
Hey Matt, this is a great question since we all love cars. In my opinion, I respect german and italian cars because I feel that they have a great combination of performance, luxury, technology, safety, handling, and quality. Yet, they are expensive. Here is what I think about American cars. I love the designs and engines, but compared to other cars their quality is not good enough to last for a couple of years. I have owned and driven many american cars. Honestly, I would love to own a V8 Chevy because i love its power. I realized that the quality of GM and Ford are getting better and better. That's it basically. I hope I answered your question.
ReplyDeleteHey Matt,
ReplyDeleteAs you know, living in Dubai means we get to see cars of all kinds on the roads. Over here there are many American cars available including the ones you mentioned.
Personally, from the American cars available, I like the new Chevy Camaro becasue it looks STUNNING and the power it offers behind the wheels. I also like the Dodge Charger R/T.
As far as the quality is concerned, i would agree with Tarek and say that the German and the Itlaian counterparts offer better quality and options in their cars. However, the competition is getting tougher and tougher.
Awesome guys. Thanks for responding. That's exactly the kind of information I was looking for. The engineers I work with will like to hear that people's opinions of our cars are changing. We are aware that the quality of the cars we used to make were not so great, but we're working very hard to change that.
ReplyDeleteAnd Firas, you are thinking of the Cadillac CTS-V, which is most certainly an American car. And it is also my absolute favorite car. :-)
Oh, and Firas, you might find this interesting:
